Prof. dr hab. Adam Huczyński

Education and career:

  • Since the 1st of September, 2019 –  full professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.
  • 01-04-2016 – 31-09-2019 associate professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.
  • 2013 – award of habilitation degree on presentation of a dissertation based on a monothematic series of 24 papers published after doctorate, entitled ”Synthesis, spectroscopic and structural studies of modified ionophore antibiotics and evaluation of their antimicrobial and anticancer activity” (habilitation degree awarded on the 24th of May, 2013, habilitation procedure at the Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. The habilitation dissertation was distinguished with Wiktor Kemula award for the best habilitation dissertation in 2014 by the Polish Chemical Society.
  • 2004-2008 Doctor of Science in Chemistry. I graduated from 4 year doctoral studies at the Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. Doctoral dissertation on ”Synthesis, spectroscopic and semiempirical studies of Monensin A esters and their complexes with metal cations” prepared under promotion of Prof. Dr hab. Bogumił Brzezinski (public defense on 28.05.2008). The doctoral dissertation was distinguished as the best doctoral dissertation with Aleksander Zamojski Award by the Polish Chemical Society and with the Award of the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, AMU.
  • 1999-2004 Master of Science in Chemistry. I graduated from 5 year studies of chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. Master’s degree dissertation on ”Synthesis and physicochemical properties of new fluorescent derivatives of 6-amino-2-thiouracil” was written at the Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry of Organic Compounds under promotion of Prof. Dr hab. Elżbieta Wyrzykiewicz. I graduated with maxima cum laude.
  • 2002-2004 Master of Science in Physics. I graduated from 2 year studies at the Faculty of Physics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, with a master’s degree in physics upon presentation of a dissertation ”Fluorescence labeling of proteins and their use in the fluorescence correlation spectroscopy”, written in Department of Molecular Biophysics under promotion of Prof. Dr hab. Adam Patkowski.
  • 1999-2002 Licentiate in Physics. 3 year studies at the Faculty of Physics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań
  • 1994-1999 Chemistry Technician, specialist in chemical analysis. High School with profile in chemical technology, in the Group of Chemical High Schools in Poznań.
